Play With Your Food...Make A Memory

Lord knows I am not one of those girls that is afraid to get dirty.  I have always been one to jump right in the with boys, or cough cough AHEAD of the boys.  Over this past month our family has been dealing with the facts of life.  My grandpa found out he has terminal cancer.  Of course everyone is going to grieve/process this news in different ways.  All I know is my Grandpa Pick is one of a kind!  He has never complained a day in his life, ALWAYS gives his all no matter what situation he is in, you will NEVER hear him say anything negative about anyone, and he is THE most religious man I know.  He is a role model for all.
So, in light of this shocking news I decided to fly back to Iowa on my 30th birthday (one I will never forget) and make memories with my grandpa vs cry over it.  It's not like the man is a china doll, he isn't broken.  He is the same strong man who mowed his farm a couple days before having surgery for crying out loud.  My goal is to celebrate his life and show him how much he means to all of us while we still have the chance.  So back to my title...play with your food.
When I say play with your food I literally mean play with it.  GO FISHING!!!!!

Get muddy, pooped on by worms, and slimed by a fish.  I hadn't been fishing in Iowa for over 10 years.  My uncle and myself were lucky enough to take full advantage of a generous farmer's lake.  We literally could throw a line out and would instantly reel in a whopper.

We couldn't believe it!  I called my grandpa and said, "this is unreal you have to see this!"  Jeff raced up to the farm to get my grandpa so he could partake.  As soon as they reached the lake.....no more bites.  The fish literally made liars out of us.  My grandpa started laughing and started accusing us of "fish tales."

It was one of the best days, not only for fishing but for making memories I will never forget.
Moral of the story.  Life isn't always guaranteed, so make the best of it.  Go "play" with your food!!!
